What the F**K is Social Media?
This sequel to the “What the F**K is Social Media” presentation on SlideShare by Jacquelyn Corbett cyr from Espresso Brand Infiltration, offers great insight into just what social media is and how we as marketers should be treating it.
There are some really compelling arguments here like:
- Reason #3: “Because visiting social sites is now the 4th most popular online activity – ahead of personal email.
- Reason #5: “Because social media is democratizing communications. Big time
- Reason #6: “Because social media is like word of mouth on steriods”
And some really staggering statistics like:
- 13 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube every minute.
- It would take 412.3 years to watch every YouTube video.
- 100 million YouTube videos are viewed each day.
- 3.6 billion photos on Flickr – roughly 1 photo per every 2 people on the planet.
- Average of 3 million tweets per day on Twitter.
- 5 billion minutes spent on Facebook each day.
The conclusions are exactly in line with our thinking at 33 (especially lines like “Stop thinking ‘campaigns’. Start thinking ‘conversations’) and the images used make this presentation even more powerful. Anyway, check it out for yourself…
