Social Media Mistakes 4: PR is not enough!

PR is a great tool for creating a ‘buzz’ over campaigns and new product launches. However, if you want a continuing interest, Social Media is the answer. Another of PR’s shortcoming is that efforts often are limited in scope and not really concern the whole company. Social Media on the other hand offers a platform for the whole company to get involved, from the finance department to customer services, and research and development. It might be useful to involve these different parts of the company tin your Social Media efforts to show your audience that you want to involve them as something more than just customers: That you want to interact with them. Ask yourself who else in your company should become active in the Social Media effort and why. The key lies in moving your marketing of your product or service beyond the news and launches!
