Four Keys Ways to Build Online Relationships

zoombenies

While anyone can have great content on their site this sadly doesn’t promise an influx of visitors and potential consumers.  There are many products that were complete flops several years ago that, if marketed properly could have been huge hits. A website is usually on of the first points of contact people will have with a product or brand so it is essential to make a good impression.

The crucial element is building relationships with those who visit the site and other site owners. If you want a real life example take a look at Wal-Mart. Do you need some one to hand you a trolley on the way in? No, but they have friendly older people who’ll give you a smile and so the relationship starts to build. If you know you have something great to market but it hasn’t found its feet yet, this doesn’t mean it won’t be a success. Keep searching for new marketing angles to find the right people.  Here are some of the most key ways to build relationships on the web:

1. Comments

This is one area in life where being a chatter-box is a huge plus. Constantly comment on other people’s websites and blogs. Do this not just to post your own link put in attempt to participate in the conversation. Don’t go on there just to steal other people’s visitors – it’s not good website etiquette. The relationship you build has lots of long-term benefits.

2. Links to content outside of your site

While this can send other people away to new sites it is like introducing someone to one of your other friends. While they might start hanging out, they both think of you as some one who knows everyone else, and invite you to other social events in return. Equally people notice you have linked to their site and often link back to you out of appreciation.

3. Guest-posting

Writing content for others helps build up strong relationships online and publicise yourself as a writer. You can borrow someone else’s readers and publicise your own work.

4. Put plenty of links and resources in your content

You need to discuss plenty of things other than your product. People are looking for what they can get out of the internet. You may have a great product but if you also have an interest and resource full website the appeal is far more obvious.
